Acts 2:1-4 (The Message)
“When the feast of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Without warning there was a sound like a strong wind, gale force-no one could tell where it came from. It filled the whole building. Then, like wildfire, the Holy Spirit spread through their ranks, and they started speaking in a number of different languages as the Spirit prompted them.” They were forever marked with His Presence!
There was a great shift in the room where the disciples met and encountered the Holy Spirit. It was a historical event signifying a new way God would interact with His people. It was an empowering and equipping of God’s people to be witnesses to the nations. A mark of His Presence!
It’s the same for us! We are forever marked by His Presence when we say “yes” to Jesus. This “yes” is not one of convenience, comfort or for recognition, but an agreement with surrender, a call to arms, a mark of love. We are not alone. We are filled with a power greater than our humanness. Our lens comes into focus as we view the world through the heart of the Father. And greater still, when we are unified as one body, the mark and fire of God’s Presence shifts and changes atmospheres in and around us.
I was forever marked by His Presence at the age of 11, which transformed how I live life, but a more recent experience occurred three years ago when I was in School of Kingdom Ministry. Putty Putman, leader of SoKM, was praying for me and my body became hunched over and I felt a jolt shoot through me. I remember being aware of what was happening to me, but not having any control over my body’s response. Jesus wasn’t speaking anything to me in the moment. In the end I had this peace and felt my heart and mind were strengthened. As I processed what happened to me, God began to speak words of risk; that the dreams He had placed in my heart would need steps of faith on my part. I knew then that what was to come would be hard, but rewarding, and a marking of His Presence being lived out! In the next year I began the creation, and ultimately the release, of my album.
As Kingdom worshipers and leaders, there is a stirring happening, an awakening to the human heart. Let God bring to remembrance times you were marked with His Presence to change the world around you. We are the marked ones! We carry a message of freedom, healing, hope, forgiveness, restoration and love.
